Dixie Moon set to make 3YO Debut at Keeneland

The Sean and Dorothy Fitzhenry bred and owned Dixie Moon (Curlin – Dixie Chicken) will be making her three-year-old debut in the G2 Appalachian Stakes at Keeneland Racetrack on April 8.

Jockey Mike Smith will be aboard the Catherine Day Phillips trainee who is coming off of an impressive two-year-old campaign which earned her a Sovereign Award nomination in her division.

After wintering with 12 horses at Palm Meadows in Florida, Catherine shipped 4 horses (and pony Tonto) to Keeneland April 1 including 6 year old Tombelaine, who made his third start of 2018 in the G2 Shakertown Stakes, where he missed the break and wasn’t a factor.

Anderson Farms Ontario Inc. & Rod Ferguson owned 4 Year old filly Fragrance (Malibu Moon – Nadeshiko) & the Fitzhenry’s Mr. Havercamp round out Catherine’s barn at Keeneland.

Catherine will be training out of a new barn at Woodbine, expanding her operation to 40 stalls for 2018.
