Two more wins for Catherine Day Phillips including second straight Stakes win for Mr. Havercamp

Eminent Force was a determined winner in an Allowance Optional Claiming and Mr. Havercamp romped home by 7 lengths in the Bunty Lawless Stakes to provide trainer Catherine Day Phillips with 2 wins on the day both with Jockey Eurico Rosa Da Silva.

Today’s two wins bring Catherine’s total number of wins to 23 so far this season which is one win more than her 2016 career high total of 22 wins.

Going one mile on the turf for a purse of $62,300, Eminent Force, claimed on July 30 for owners P.A. Fullerton and Catherine’s Kindfield Racing Stable, notched his thirteenth career win in race 2 at Woodbine and was  claimed out of the race for $62,500.  Eminent Force was third in the Halton Stakes and had a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming while with trainer Catherine Day Phillips.

Eminent Force, winner of the second race at Woodbine

In the sixth race, favourite, Split My Pants, owned by Doug Anderson, Rita Eskudt, Peter Mosakos, Kingfield Racing Stable Ltd., and Carnegie Hill Stable, finished a neck in second after a valiant effort to get out from behind a wall of horses in the stretch with jockey Patrick Husbands aboard.

Three year-old Mr. Havercamp, bred and owned by Sean and Dorothy Fitzhenry, romped home by seven and a half lengths against older horses in the eighth race, the $125,000 Bunty Lawless Stakes at Woodbine.  It was his second straight stakes win after winning the Vice Regent Stakes on September 23.  Mr. Havercamp has won four of his five career starts under trainer Catherine Day Phillips.
