In his third lifetime start, 2 year-old colt, Green Growth, records his first career win in front running fashion in a $71,000 Maiden Special Weight today at Woodbine.
Green Growth was coming off of a third place effort in his last race September 8 at the same level and distance where he “grudgingly” gave up the lead but powered on for third.
Trained by Catherine Day Phillips and owned by John Fielding, Don Meehan and Peter Kirby, Green Growth’s win was under the saddle of Woodbine’s leading Jockey Eurico Rosa da Silva.
The Ontario-bred colt by Bayern -Witch’s Coven by Cuvee was purchased for $60,000 by C. Day Phillips, Agent at the Keeneland September sale last year.
